Dr. Gabe is a chiropractic physician who specializes in functional medicine and applied kinesiology. At its core, functional medicine seeks to uncover the root cause of illnesses, through comprehensive lab work, health history, and unique clinical understanding. Applied kinesiology is a diagnostic technique using manual muscle testing that effectively assists the doctor in fine tuning the treatment process and works hand-in-hand with functional medicine at uncovering the underlying issues. These are used together with various treatments (nutritional counseling, myofascial release, exercise, supplementation, and lifestyle modification) to support the natural healing process.

My health journey closely mirrors that of many of my patients. I experienced chronic migraines for over 12 years, beginning in high school. They often occurred on weekends and were severe enough to cause nausea and vomiting. Over time, they became nearly daily. Excedrin provided limited relief if taken early; otherwise, I would isolate in a dark room and wait for them to pass. Conventional care led to a prescription, which helped temporarily but did not address the underlying issue. I wanted to understand why this was happening. While in chiropractic school, I attended a seminar with one of my mentors, Stephen Gangemi, who identified a gluten intolerance. I was skeptical but decided to test the change. The migraines stopped. While this did not resolve every health issue, it marked a significant turning point and demonstrated the importance of identifying underlying contributors rather than managing symptoms alone. That experience shaped my clinical direction. Since then, I have made substantial changes to my own health and pursued extensive postgraduate training—over 500 hours—in nutrition, Applied Kinesiology, and functional medicine. My work is focused on careful assessment, individualized care, and helping patients identify and address factors that may be contributing to ongoing health concerns. My goal is not quick fixes, but clarity, direction, and progress—especially for those who have felt stuck or dismissed elsewhere.
